Virtual Exhibit

Virtual Exhibit (VE) is the instant Web exhibit creation tool for PastPerfect Museum Software. Virtual Exhibit converts selected collection records and images from PastPerfect to HTML for posting on the World Wide Web. You can point and click on the records you want to share, and VE will create all of the HTML and related files you will need to upload your exhibits to the Web. No Web programming knowledge is required to create informative, attractive and intuitive online exhibits.

With Virtual Exhibit, you select which records from your PastPerfect Objects, Photos, Archives, and Library catalogs to include, and which data fields to share. VE automates the work, and allows you to personalize the exhibit and record page layouts, color scheme, image size, and more with simple on-screen selections. Since Virtual Exhibit is now based on Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) the possibilities for customization by your Web designers are endless.

Virtual Exhibit 5.0 requires that you have PastPerfect version 5.0 or higher with the MultiMedia and Virtual Exhibit Upgrades.

Installing Virtual Exhibit

When you purchase the Virtual Exhibit program, you will receive a Virtual Exhibit Upgrade CD. To activate this feature, click Setup on the Main Menu and then click System Parameters on the Setup menu. Click the Unlock Upgrade Options button and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

Virtual Exhibit can be installed on a networked version of PastPerfect. Virtual Exhibit will be activated on all the network workstations. Users will see the same Virtual Exhibits on each workstation. However, when the website is built, the files it creates will be stored on the local workstation. The websites created at each workstation will be independent.
