Search Reporting
Concept
PastPerfect Online's built-in reporting provides statistical information
about the searches performed on your site. The report includes the number
of searches for each search type, the average number of records returned
per search, the most frequently searched terms, and more. At the top of
the report, you can enter in a date range for the time period you wish
to view. By default, the report shows the current month's searches, but
you can adjust it for any period of time that fits your needs.
The URL for your Statistics Report can be found on your PastPerfect
Online Welcome Letter. The format is https://sitename.pastperfectonline.com/reports.
The Report has five main sections:
- General Statistics is broken down into six categories: Objects
(WebObjects), Photos, Archives, Library, Keyword, and Advanced Search.
Each category will have the number of searches performed as well as
the average number of returned records per search.
- General Statistics - NO RECORDS Returned is broken down
into the same categories as General Statistics, however these numbers
refer to searches where no results were returned. Each category will
have the number of searches performed.
- Top 20 Keywords Used for OPAL and General Search provides
a list of the top 20 terms searched for in the Objects, Photos, Archives,
Libraries, and Keyword Search sections of your site. It also displays
the number of times each term was searched. This section will list
the top 20 terms searched for regardless of whether or not they returned
results.
- Top 20 Keywords Used for OPAL and General Search - NO RECORDS
Returned provides a list of the top 20 terms searched for in the
Objects, Photos, Archives, Libraries, and Keyword Search sections
of your site where no results were returned. These indicate that the
terms web visitors are seeking are not in your online database. This
section may help you decide which items to add to your site to improve
your visitors' searching experience.
- Top 20 Terms and Keywords Used for Advanced Search displays
the top 20 terms searched for in the Advanced Search section of your
site. It also provides which advanced search category the term was
entered into and the number of times each term was searched.
