Sharing Additional Record Types

In addition to sharing your catalog records online, you can also include other record types like People, Exhibits, Search Terms, Container Lists, and Sites. When you have additional records selected for public view, there will be a hyperlink located on the catalog record pages where the name or term is used. Clicking the link will open a new page that displays any fields you have chosen to share for that record type. There will also be a list of associated records containing that same name or term. By sharing additional record types, your online collections will become multi-dimensional, and web visitors will easily be able to explore your collections in-depth.

As with the catalog records, you can choose which of these additional records and which of their fields are shared online. We recommend including all of the additional records, even if you only share just one field (like Name). Having at least one field selected to display will create connections between catalog records sharing the same name or term. Your web visitors will be able to see those connections and can further delve into your online collections using those links.
