Library

The Library catalog is intended for cataloging published materials in a non-circulating reference library. The available fields include Author, Physical Description, Call No, LCCN, Publisher, Edition, and Series.

On the Library record screen, below the Top Section, there is a Tabs Panel listing the two available tabs: Library and Custom.

Use the Default View drop-down list to designate which tab should display by default when a particular record is accessed. Even when you choose a default tab, you can still enter data in fields on both tabs, if appropriate.

Library

The Library tab contains fields that are specific to describing published documents and are unique to the Library catalog. Newer books may have a Cataloging in Publication (CIP) page on the reverse side of the title page of the book. This CIP typically contains much of the data you will need for cataloging, including the author, title, series, publication date and place, publisher, call number, LCCN, ISBN, and subject entries.

The Site field is populated from a drop-down list displaying records from within Sites.  Once a site is selected, you can access the Site record by clicking on the Site name.

Custom

The Custom tab displays any custom fields you have set up. For more information about setting up custom fields, see Custom Fields.
